Teen Taken into Custody for Involvement in December Murder in Washington D.C.

Mocobizscene: In a homicide case from December, the D.C. Metro Police Department’s Homicide Branch made significant progress that resulted in the arrest of a young suspect. On February 7, 2024, the MPD made the arrest with the help of the Prince George County Police Department.

Responding to a report of gunfire at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Kennedy Street in Northwest on December 18, were police from the Fourth District. When they got to the site, it was approximately 11:46 a.m., and they discovered that Jihad Darden, 27, had been shot. A private vehicle took Darden to the hospital, where he was taken seriously ill and sadly died.

After a thorough investigation, law enforcement personnel were able to successfully detain a male, aged 15, from Bowie, Maryland, yesterday. A custody order issued by the DC Superior Court was followed by the arrest. It is now planned for the minor to be extradited to Washington, DC, to face charges of First Degree Murder while Armed.
