Shots fired near Good Shepherd School; no one harmed

Mocobizscene: On Tuesday, January 30, gunshots were heard close to the Good Shepherd School on AP Tureaud Avenue.

Teachers quickly escorted children back into the building to guarantee their safety, and the New Orleans Police Department was on the site shortly after 1:30 p.m.

Residents in the vicinity claimed to have heard two rounds of gunfire. When gunshots were heard, nearby residents ran for cover as bullets hit a pickup truck that was parked a short distance from the school.

A representative for the school affirmed that all pupils had been brought inside securely and gave the assurance that a lockdown was not necessary. There were no injuries reported.
