Canadians are raising their brows after a tweet from Passport Canada prompted people to get the travel paper for “winter season holiday” regardless of the continuous unique COVID-19 pandemic, according to globalnews.ca.

A tweet published on Passport Canada verified account on Friday mid-day urged individuals to look for a ticket. ” Are you planning a wintertime holiday yet do not have a legitimate ticket?” the tweet reads. “Do not wait. Apply currently!”

The tweet comes despite support from Travel Canada, which has, for months, been advising Canadians to “prevent all non-essential travel” beyond the nation as the COVID-19 pandemic proceeds.

” As international, federal governments carry out rigorous traveling limitations, and as fewer worldwide transport options are available, you may have trouble going back to Canada or may need to remain abroad for an indeterminate period,” the company’s website reads.

Traveling Canada has likewise recommended Canadians to “prevent all cruise liner traveling” outside of the nation “till more notice.”
