Smartphone market has shown some signs of recovery after the pandemic, it turned out that some brands stood out more than others Samsung the biggest winner
The health and economic crisis related to the Covid-19 pandemic continues to rage. Anyway, the smartphone market has shown some signs of recovery, and it turned out that some brands stood out more than others, and Samsung the big winner in this.
International Data Corporation released its smartphone market report in the third quarter of this year. The report clearly revealed that Xiaomi beat Apple to win third place in the list of the largest smartphone manufacturers. A first for the company, which has never been in the top 3 of this list.
If Apple was thus relegated to fourth place, Samsung regained first place. In addition to dominating its competitors in the global market, Samsung also managed to overtake Xiaomi in the Indian market – a market in which the Chinese firm has reigned supreme in previous quarters.
While the Korean company’s new products – the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and the Galaxy S20 series – have certainly contributed to this success, it is mainly the mid-range products of the A series that are behind this feat.
However, this ranking is not immutable, and Apple is expected to regain popularity with the release of its new smartphone – the iPhone 12 – in the fourth quarter of this year.
Finally, between Samsung and Xiaomi, we should not forget another Chinese giant, Huawei, which occupies second place in the ranking. Even though the company is facing a decline in sales, Huawei has still managed to stay afloat.
