Nature offers many surprises, here is further proof. At the top of Mount Kelimutu in Moni on the island of Flores, three lakes, the origin of the craters, change color all the time.
From shades of blue to browner water, travellers have the chance to admire, in addition to a splendid landscape, these lakes with the changing colours of Indonesia.

Every lake has its story. The first one is called Tiwu Ata Mbupu, it would represent the souls of the ancestors. The second one, Tiwu Nuwa Muri Koo Fai, corresponds to the souls of the youngest while the last one, Tiwu Ata Polo, of a dark colour reflects the evil spirits.

To reach this volcano, however, you have to be patient and climb an eight-kilometre trail. An exceptional place to visit ideally in July and August during the dry season.
